Challenges and check-ins

How does a challenge work?

Pick one daily action and a length: 7, 14, 21, 30, 60 or 90 days, or anything from 1 to 365. Check in once a day. The grid shows every day of the run, so you can see where you are at a glance.

Can a day have more than one task?

Yes. Give a challenge several daily tasks, or start a ready-made program that has them. Tick each task, and the day counts when they are all done.

I missed a day. Is the challenge over?

No. The missed day stays on the grid and the challenge carries on. If you have a streak freeze, it covers the missed day and your streak continues.

How do streak freezes work?

Every 7 days in a row earns one freeze, and a challenge can hold two. A freeze is used automatically on a missed day. The day still counts as missed in your statistics, because the numbers should be honest.

Can I check in for yesterday?

No. Check-ins are for today only, which is what keeps the grid trustworthy.

Where do I find my stats?

Open Profile, then Stats. Insights appears once you have 14 days behind you, and shows your consistency, perfect weeks, best streak and strongest weekdays.

Can I make a timelapse?

Yes. Add a photo in the day’s card on the challenge. Once a challenge has seven photos, you can make a timelapse from its journal and save or share it.

Shared challenges

How do I do a challenge with someone?

Start a challenge and choose who it is with: a partner, a buddy or a group. Share the invite code or link. They open LVEL, tap Join with a code, and enter it.

How many people can join?

A partner or buddy challenge is the two of you. A group holds up to eight people.

Who sees what?

Everyone in the challenge sees each other’s name, profile picture, days, streak and whether they have checked in today, plus the daily photo while photo sharing is on. Nobody sees your notes, your other challenges or your email.

Can I control who joins a group?

Yes. The person who created a group can turn on approval in the group’s settings, so everyone who uses the code waits to be let in. They can also make a new code, which stops the old one, and remove members.

How do I stop sharing my photos?

Open the challenge, then Together, then the settings button, and turn off Share my daily photo. Every photo you shared with that group is removed.

How do I leave?

Open the challenge, then Together, then the settings button, and tap Leave this group. Your challenge and check-ins stay with you and carry on alone.

Reporting and blocking

How do I report a photo?

Tap the photo to open it, then Report photo, and choose a reason. It is hidden from the whole group straight away, and we review every report.

How do I block someone?

Open the challenge’s Together settings, find the person under People, and block them. Blocking works both ways: neither of you can join a group the other is in.

Widgets and notifications

How do I add a widget?

Open LVEL once after installing. Then press and hold the Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for LVEL. It comes in small, medium and large. For the Lock Screen, press and hold it, tap Customize, and add LVEL above or below the clock.

What are the Together widgets?

Two widgets for a shared challenge: one with everyone’s faces and days, and one with today’s photos. Stack them on top of each other to swipe between them.

My daily reminder is not arriving

In iOS Settings, open Notifications, then LVEL, and allow notifications. Then check that a reminder time is set in the app, under Profile.

Can I change check-in alerts for a group?

Yes. In the challenge’s Together settings, choose Notify, Quietly or Off. Off stops the notifications but keeps the Together widgets up to date.

Subscription and billing

What does LVEL cost?

$2.99 a week, $7.99 a month, or $49.99 a year with a 7-day free trial. Every plan includes everything. Prices are in US dollars; the App Store shows your local price.

How does the free trial work?

The yearly plan starts with 7 days free. LVEL reminds you two days before it ends. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end and you are not charged.

How do I cancel?

In Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then LVEL, then Cancel Subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel it.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles all payments, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue them ourselves.

I got a new phone and LVEL asks me to subscribe again

Sign in with the same Apple or Google account you used before, then tap Restore purchases on the subscription screen. It must be the same Apple Account that paid.

How do I switch plans?

Open Profile, then Subscription, or go to Settings, your name, Subscriptions, LVEL, and pick another plan. Apple decides when the change takes effect.

Account and data

Why should I sign in?

Signing in with Apple or Google keeps your challenges for a new phone. Your existing challenges carry over when you sign in.

I lost my progress after reinstalling

If you had signed in, choose I already have an account during setup and sign in with the same Apple or Google account. If you had not signed in before deleting the app, that progress cannot be recovered.

Where are my photos and notes stored?

Your journal notes and photos are saved privately with your account, so they come back on a new phone if you signed in, and the phone keeps a copy. Only you can see them. The exception is the daily photo in a shared challenge with photo sharing on, which that group also sees.

How do I delete my account and data?

In the app: Profile, then Delete account. That removes your account, profile, challenges, check-ins, journals, group memberships and uploaded pictures from our servers, and the copy on that phone. It cannot be undone, and it does not cancel your subscription. If you cannot open the app, email contact@lvel.app from the address you signed in with and we will delete it for you.
